I’ve been wanting to clean my engine bay for a while because it’s covered in dust and old oil residue, but every time I think about it I remember a mate who had a pressure washer used on his engine and ended up with electrical gremlins for months. So now I’m looking at steam cleaning instead, which I’ve heard is gentler on the electrics because it uses less water. I found exoticautoservices.ae/car-engine-steam-wash while comparing options and it seems like that’s exactly what they do, but I want to understand the difference before committing. Does steam actually dry faster and reduce the risk of water sitting in connectors? And is there anything I should ask them to avoid, like certain areas around the fuse box or the ECU? I’d rather go in knowing what to look out for than just trusting whatever the shop says.
