I picked up a 2016 Ghibli about eight months ago, and it is the most beautiful car I have ever owned, but it is also teaching me a lot about patience. The car has about 64,000 kilometers, and for the last two weeks I have been hearing a thin squeal from the front wheels when I roll up to the signal. The pedal still feels normal and the car stops straight, but the front wheels are covered in dark dust, even right after a wash. I thought finding pads would be easy, like for any other car, but when I called around the first place told me they would have to order the parts and it could take a week or more. The second place said they had some in stock, but could not tell me if they were original or another brand. That made me nervous, because I do not want to put cheap pads on a car that costs this much to run. My friend who has a Quattroporte says Maserati brakes are tricky because the discs are big and the parts are not common like Toyota or Nissan. My cousin says that is nonsense, and a good workshop can fix any car if they have the right tools. I read a page from a workshop in Dubai about Maserati brake pads, and it explained how the pads, discs and sensor wire wear together, and why the parts need to match the exact model. That helped me see why the parts question matters so much. One evening I typed Exclusive Maserati brake pad replacement in Dubai into my phone, mostly to find out how a place handles a brand that is not so common here. So here is what I want to ask. Do you call first and ask if the pads are in stock for your exact model and year? Is it normal to wait several days for the parts, and can I drive the car safely while I wait? Also, do you let them choose the brand, or do you ask for original only? I heard the discs often need changing with the pads on these cars, but I am not sure if that is true or just extra billing. If you own a Maserati, please tell me how long your set lasted, what you paid, and who you trusted with the job. Thanks everyone.
